BATHING & AROMATHERAPY

Ariel Meiggs

I love that the simple act of bathing can be turned into a daily ritual for an intentional & meaningful act of self care just by simply recognizing what it intrinsically does for us. Water and a little soap can be so cleansing, healing and soothing as you wash away the days crud both physically and energetically. I like to close my eyes connect with the scent of the soap or shower steamer and imagine the water taking all my emotional crud with it right down the drain, while the new water showering down from the spout rejuvenates, heals and uplifts, and when I step out of the shower, I feel a little more renewed.

Aromatherapy & Fragrance The thing I love about fragrance is what it can represent and the power it has to instantly connect you with moments of the present and the past, and create a mood in the atmosphere based on the qualities of the scent. Scent evokes memories, feelings, moods, & emotions and can profoundly transport you back in time to specific moments in your life, trigger dormant memories, remind you of people and places that you love... through personal fragrances like a grandpas aftershave or a candy scent that reminds you of a childhood friend, seasonal aromas that remind you of the beach, or festive holiday traditions... Scents that resonate with your life can be a delightful way to tap into nostalgia and create a more meaningful & sensory rich experience within your normal daily life. Discovering and introducing new scents will carry on through the days and begin to take on their own meanings for you and your loved ones as they waft in and out of your lives. My wish is that our products will create that mystical sense of sentiment for you, transporting you in time, or trigger beautiful memories of some of the most meaningful, magical and lovely people, places and times in your life.

Some of the scents that are meaningful or inspiring to me in my life are Rose, Eucalyptus, Gardenia, and woodsy earthy scents like Pine, cedar, & sandalwood. I grew up where the forest meets the ocean out in the middle of nowhere California. As a child I found refuge, comfort and wonder in all things nature.

Rose is such a beautiful historical, timeless, romantic, regal and traditional scent. It's delicate yet steadfast and hardy.  My grandmother had the most beautiful rose garden and I remember how much joy it brought to her and how she loved to see us enjoy the roses when we visited.

Woody Scents can be so grounding and comforting. The earthy smell of damp or dry forest pine & redwood trees, reminds me of my many endless hours adventuring & playing in the woods.

Eucalyptus gives us all the Spa vibes and represents clarity and invigoration.  I remember after a rain the giant eucalyptus would become more fragrant and fill the air with a revitalizing, comforting and refreshing breeze as we drove by.

Gardinia & Jasmine are other floral, classic, elegant scents. Growing up my mom loved having gardenias in potted plants in the house. They smelled wonderful and were so elegant and beautiful looking flowers.

Cucumber Melon is uplifting and happy. It takes me streight back to high school and days spent at the mall!

Lavender has such a soothing & relaxing quality! Promotes a sense of well-being, and is thought to ease stress, promote calmness, tranquility, and create serene, peaceful feelings.

Licorice, Fennel & Anis isn't the most popular scent or flavor, but I note this here because every time I smell this scent, it transports me to a magical time when I was younger. Wild fennel grows all over California & I would squish the greenery of the plant between my fingers just to smell it. It always smelled so good, comforting, earthy, warm sweet and spiced. I would chew the stem as I walked through the forest.

Citrus scents are uplifting, mood-enhancing, vibrant, clean, bright, sunshiny, and fresh! I love the revitalizing, joyous quality of citrus aromas!

Mint is so lovely! It's refreshing, cool, breezy, and promotes focus, clarity and alertness. It's uplifting, fresh, and energizing.

Coconut takes me to that tropical paradise feeling we all know and love so much! I just love the smooth creamy warmth of the coconut.

Apple is comforting, crisp, fresh and fruity and reminds me of Apple picking with my son and sometimes those scented toys that smelled like different fruits in the 80’s.

...Scents can be so magical with the things they evoke in us. What scents do you connect with and could use more of within your daily life?  Here's, wishing you that simple things (like a bar of one of our soaps) turn you lifes regular tasks into lovely moments.  TaTa for now! xoxoxo
